We've all been there, anxiety is something that happens to most of us. The sweaty palms, the overthinking, and the feeling that something will go wrong.
Read below for tips on how to curb anxiety - tried and tested these work!
The fasted was to help ease anxiety is breathing, deep slow breaths. If you pretend that you are smelling some flowers through your nose and blowing out candles gently through your mouth you will be able to instantly calm yourself. If you can spare at least a minute for this it is ideal, however the longer that you can perform deep breaths the better.
Meditation is a great tool for reducing stress and controlling anxiety. Our favourite app for meditation is headspace. Alternatively you can close your eyes and focus on your breathing, counting your breaths - 1 on the inhale, 2 on the exhale, 3 on the inhale, 4 on the exhale - all the way up to a count of 10 and repeat. The goal is to focus on being in the moment and if you feel yourself getting distracted and thinking about something else, notice the thought and focus again on the counting of the breath.
Just 30 minutes of exercise each day can reduce anxiety and improve your mood. Simply walking will do the trick, however for optimum results we recommend some HIIT (high-intensity interval training) to really get the heart pumping. Regular exercise everyday is recommended for best results.
Oils, incense and a candle can all ease feeling of being calm. Make the environment smell nice and you will feel better.
Another amazing trick to fix anxiety is to journal. If you are unsure where to start, simply ask yourself questions like 'What do I want?' 'How do I feel?' and then ask 'Why?' to what you answer to aid in self reflection and discovery - it may just help you feel better.
